Soulcraft This!

Description - You and up to five of your friends should begin your craft brewing experience here. We'll brew up to ten gallons of beer brewed using many of the items you have in your kitchen. You walk away with a gallon of beer each, brewed and bottled by you, a glossary and understanding of brewing terms, some history and a beginning knowledge of classic beer styles that we enjoy at our neighborhood breweries and a wonderful new hobby you can be proud of. This process will take about three hours.

We will use malt extract, steeping grains, hops and pure yeast cultures you can find in local homebrew shops to brew a basic beer style, such as American pale ale. We will use the methods all great homebrewers use and discuss ways to expand on basic styles.

Cost - The cost will be $50 per person, including the ingredients from grain to glass.

This Soulcrafting experience can take place from the comfort of your home or I can find us an alternate location.

If you're interested, we can walk through the process of entering your beer into a craft beer competition, too.

Soulcraft This!

Description - If you and up to five of your friends are ready to get serious then this is the Soulcrafting experience for you. In this all grain brewing experience we'll produce up to ten gallons brewed and bottled by you. We will also explore the options of doing a second ferment with fruit, wood, spices or vegetables to enhance the beer. We will discuss the characteristics each grain gives the beer, as well as the characteristics of what yeast will add to the final beer. You walk away with at least 1 gallon of finely crafted beer and an understanding of the all grain process. This process will take about five hours.

We will use ingredients you can get at your local homebrew shop with the use of one more piece of equipment; the mash tune. This is easier than you may think! You may find yourself wanting to use both methods of brewing; extract or all grain or a combination of the two; partial mashing. We will discuss the difference of these methods and how to use them to achieve a process you are comfortable with.

Cost - The cost will be $60 per person, including the ingredients from grain to glass.

This Soulcrafting experience can take place from the comfort of your home or I can find us an alternate location.

If you're interested, we can walk through the process of entering your beer into a craft beer competition, too.

About Elizabeth Lange

Elizabeth Lange is a master homebrewer and a member of the American Homebrewers Association and The Indian Peaks Alers Homebrew Club. Her love of fine craft beer was born out of her experience at White Labs, a beer and fermentation company that supplies breweries and homebrewers with pure yeast cultures for their craft worldwide. The constant discussions with brewers about their beers and issues with their processes further fed Elizabeth's enthusiasm for fine craft beer. Elizabeth has won a number of medals for her beer in competitions held throughout Colorado. As a member of Soulcrafting, she would love to share her love of craft beer with you.
